Measure a ring you already own

Choose a ring that fits the same finger. Measure the inside opening, not the outside of the band.

1. Lay the ring flat and place a millimetre ruler across its centre.
2. Read the distance from one inside edge to the other.
3. Compare that measurement with the inside-diameter column below. If you are unsure, confirm with a physical ring sizer.

US size chart

Hiatus uses US sizes 6–13. A given US size refers to the same inside opening across our ring styles. You do not need a different size because the design is a Signet or Creators ring.

All measurements below are in millimetres, rounded to one decimal place. Diameter is the width across the opening; circumference is the distance around it.

Measure when your fingers are at a normal temperature, often later in the day. Unsure between measurements? Use the physical sizer rather than guessing.

1. Thread the end through the buckle to make a loop.
2. Place it on the finger you want to measure. Adjust it so it is snug, not tight, and can still slide over the knuckle.
3. Read the US size at the marker.

Using paper or string

Paper or string gives a rough circumference estimate. It is less precise than measuring a ring that fits or using a physical sizer.

1. Wrap a thin strip around the base of the finger and mark where it overlaps.
2. Lay it flat and measure that length in millimetres.
3. Compare it with the inside-circumference column. Confirm with a physical sizer if you are unsure.
